Gone, though nothing we found pins down when. Polka shut for three months during the pandemic, and in July 2021 its owner was in a rent dispute and told ABC7 they were not going to give up — that closure was temporary and is not the end of the story. The Eastsider later reported Highland Cafe opening a second location in the former Polka space on Verdugo Road.
