The Modesto Bee reported on 3 January 2024 that Bauer's 66 1/2 Skillet & Grill in McHenry Village had closed, without saying when. A separate restaurant by the same owner, Bauer's Downtown Gastropub on 9th Street, was taken over by Sazon por Tradicion — that is a different story and does not date this one.
